UT Ars Sonora

In late 2019 we flew to Annecy, France on assignment for the University of Tampa to interview the Paccard’s – a family of bell makers dating back to 1796.

Philippe and Anne Paccard now run the bell making operations, along with their son, Thomas – an electrical engineer who helped develop an innovative way to play the bells through a piano keyboard.

Soon, UT will begin construction of the world’s most advanced bell tower, called an Ars Sonora, which will add yet another world-class element to downtown Tampa.
